The Gold Coast Indy 300 was an open-wheel motor race event that took place at Surfers Paradise in south east Queensland, Australia from 1991 to 2008. The newly opened Surfers Paradise Marriott Hotel was the event’s official host venue. To celebrate Gold Coast Indy’s third year in 1993, Gold Coast City Council Tourism Board in conjunction with Marriott Hotels and Watling Galleries, marked the event with an invitational public art exhibition by some of south-east Queensland’s and northern New South Wales’ most prominent artists.
