Blair McNamara has been producing paintings, exhibitions and commissions for 25 years. He often produces a series of work at a time, spanning the gamut of both his traditional training and creative expression. Through paintings, drawings, collage, photography, montage, installations and musical compositions he records the relationship between the visual and sound landscape. His fascination with the grid, the play-of-light, the layering of surfaces, the inherent energies found in nature, the abstraction of the shoreline and cultural diversity all inspire him. His art has developed from a profound respect and love for the global beach from Bondi to Brazil. Over time he has chronicled the changes occurring along the coastal plain by capturing and interpreting the environment.
